Our mission is to provide our defense partners with the
Power necessary to defend their assets domestically and abroad.

Enercon provides Tactical Electrical Power (TEP) and Mobile Power Generation (MPG) products, services, and support to the United States Armed Forces (USAF) and its Allies. We design, fabricate, and test specialized power solutions that maintain overwhelming Tactical, Operational, and Strategic advantages over adversaries.

Our TEP products are designed to meet the demanding requirements of military-deployed assets. Our MPG products are designed to provide reliable power generation in austere environments. We offer a full range of product support services, including engineering, field service, technical support, and training.

Meet the MTBR.

The Mobile Tactical Battlefield Recharger (MTBR) provides an innovative hybrid power generation solution to support the United States Army Climate Strategy plan to “field purpose-built hybrid-drive tactical vehicles by 2035 and fully electric tactical vehicles by 2050.”1 The MTBR can be employed in a tactical environment to support military tactical operations by charging hybrid vehicles.  Enercon is experienced in military specifications associated with packaging tactical power systems for programs like the Missile Defense Agency’s AN/TPY-2 Radar Prime Power Unit (PPU)

As the Army works towards developing and employing hybrid and all-electric tactical vehicles to support contingency operations, the Army will require a solution to recharge these vehicles on the move. The MTBR can provide the Army with the electric power distribution required to enable maneuver forces to sustain both mobile and support operations.

Augmenting fossil fuel with electrical power enhances fuel efficiency, extending operational reach and reducing the logistical burden associated with moving and protecting JP8 fuelers during military operations. Heavy reliance on fuel-powered generators leads to logistical challenges, increased operational costs, and environmental concerns. To support the Army’s Climate Strategy, there must be a tactical field charging capability that is developed in parallel with the Army’s pursuit to field hybrid and all-electric vehicles.

The Power Behind the Power.

Since 2009, Enercon has been the driving force behind the Missile Defense Agency's THAAD-PPU (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense - Prime Power Unit). The highly mobile power unit provides primary power to the AN/TPY-2: Army Navy/Transportable Radar Surveillance, which detects, tracks, and discriminates against incoming ballistic missiles.

The combined units of the THAAD-PPU and the AN/TPY-2 have a flawless performance against all classes of ballistic missiles, including the January 2022 attacks on UAE allied forces. The THAAD-PPU is a mobile Tactical Electrical Power Generation unit that provides contested environments, and assured access to power for our warfighters. The PPU system can be rapidly deployed by C5 or larger aircraft.

To date, we have successfully delivered 23 PPUs to military deployments around the globe. Our team is passionate about providing clean, safe, and reliable power to those who need it most - in austere and dangerous environments.

AAFES & Enercon

The Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) provides quality products and services at competitive prices to Active Duty, Guard and Reserve, retirees, civilians, and their families.

This mobile field exchange system includes physical stores and mobile units traveling to deployed locations. These mobile units bring service members to access to items such as snacks, drinks, toiletries, and other personal items. AAFES also provides deployed service members access to phone cards, calling plans, and other communications services. In addition, the Army and Air Force Exchange Service operates several outlets on military bases which provide service members with access to clothing, electronics, and other items. AAFES is an essential part of deployed life for many service members.

AAFES is an accredited distributor for many name-brand manufacturers and offers a variety of general merchandise and food products through direct supply sources. Their product mix is designed to offer customers a "one-stop shopping" experience.

Enercon is proud to be AAFES' partner in providing mobile field exchange units. Enercon will be building new units so AAFES can help more military and civilians. These units are designed to bring AAFES' quality products and services directly to the customer, wherever they may be stationed. With our help, AAFES is able to provide quality products and services to its customers no matter where they are located.

Standby Power for the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

After the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, the Pentagon was left with significant damage. One of the most affected areas was the Standby Power Generation equipment. This equipment is essential for maintaining critical power in the building, and it was destroyed in the attack.

Our team was immediately contacted to perform a quick turn replacement. With the cooperation between the customer and the engine OEM, we delivered a brand-new unit within seven weeks. The customer was extremely satisfied with our work, and we were proud to be able to help in such a quick and efficient manner.

Scope of Project:

An initial order was received for (3) 40 ft high cube ISO shipping containers to be utilized as generator set enclosures. Each unit contained a single CAT 3516 Diesel Genset 1825kW @ 5kV, sound attenuated to approximately 85 db(A) at 15 meters, installed on a tri-axle container chassis equipped with the followings:

  • Internal, critical grade silencer, including all piping

  • 1250 gallon capacity fuel tank

  • Separate control room containing the engine paralleling controls as well as the generator 5 kV breaker. The control room is insulated and heated.

  • The container interior AC requirements are wired to an internal distribution panel board with individual circuit breakers along with a main circuit breaker for the utility connection.

  • The package is shipped with an access stair set plus support jacks for use when the container is “dropped”, no tractor is left under the trailer.

  • To date, we have provided 7 container units in this configuration to be used by the U.S. Army.

MIL-SPEC Experience

Mil-SPECs are also known as MIL-STDs or Military Specifications and signify that something meets a certain Military Standard or Military Specification. Mil-SPECs are often used in industries where parts must withstand harsh environments, address transportation requirements, or where Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) is a concern. In short, Mil- SPEC is just a shorthand way of saying that a product meets specific military standards for quality and durability.

Enercon has experience satisfying over 20 Military Specifications for fabricating mobile power units. This includes Mil-STD 810G for harsh Environments and Mil-STD 461F for EMI. All our products are designed and fabricated in our state-of-the-art facilities in the USA. When you choose Enercon, you can be confident that you're getting a product that meets the highest standards for quality and durability.
